PORTALES--Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is sponsoring several
entertainment events for the general public from Thursday, Nov. 20, through
Sunday, Nov. 23.
"The Front Page" theatre production will run from Nov. 20-23 in the
University Theatre at 8 p.m. each night. Directed by Felipe Macias, the
play is about a reporter who wants to leave the newspaper business for
advertising, and his editor who will do anything to keep him on staff. The
setting is in 1928 on the eve of Chicago's last execution by hanging.

Eastern's Jazz Ensemble will present a Big Band Dance from 7-10 p.m. on
Friday, Nov. 21, at the State Theatre in Clovis. Under the direction of
Chris Beaty, the program will include swing, oldies, blues and rock and
roll.
Admission is $5 for the general public and $3 with student ID. Proceeds
will help fund the 2004 ENMU Jazz Fest.

Eastern's Swanee Singers will perform a free concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday in
Buchanan Hall of the Music Building. Under the direction of Eugene Thomas
and Megan Chilson, the performance will include everything from classical
music to a tribute to the Beatles to a song from West Side Story.
