PORTALES — Hispanic Affairs at Eastern NewMexico University is hosting a motivational speech by Lt. Col.(retired) Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch. Her presentation will be in theBecky Sharp Auditorium from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.
Lt.Col. Lickbusch, from San Antonio, Texas, was the highest-rankingHispanic woman in the Combat Support Field in the United States Army.She is now retired and dedicates her time to be a motivational speakerin the search to create tomorrow's leaders. "She is a great speaker,she really makes an impact on your life," said Nancy Varela, studentadvisor of Hispanic Affairs at ENMU.
Besidesher presentation, there will also be a reception, where students willhave the opportunity to talk to her, according to Ms. Varela. "Do notmiss this opportunity to come and let her inspire you not to give uphope, but rather to take charge and make a difference," she added.
