PORTALES–Eastern New Mexico University’s Department of Theatre will host a production of Man and Superman on Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 1-3, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. on the Mainstage Theater in the University Theater Center on the Portales campus.
The production is directed by Janeice Scarbrough and written by George Bernard Shaw.
Scarbrough says, "John Tanner is a country gentleman, secret revolutionist and confirmed bachelor in turn of the century England. Miss Anne Whitefield would love to convince him to be a married man. Of course, his and her best friend Octavius Robinson is in love with her, too.
"John is appointed Anne’s guardian when Mr. Whitefield dies and, in spite of running away in his new steam motorcar to Algiers, John Tanner is caught. Don’t forget Violet, Octavius’s sister, who is secretly married to an American gentleman whose father shows up not at all in favor of the wedding.
"It’s a fun, classical romp."
Tickets are $5 and ENMU students get in free with a current student ID. No reservations are required.
