PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University ishosting the Leadership ENMU Scholarship Golf Tournament on Saturday,Aug. 27, at the Clovis Municipal Golf Course.
Thewinning team will receive four passes with golf carts to play at theInn of the Mountain Gods. The runner-up team will receive four passesto The Links at Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, and the third-place team willreceive four passes to the Kokopelli Golf Course in Ruidoso. The lastplace team will receive a 22-pound turkey (with possible freezer burn).
Fundsraised will provide four scholarships: one each for high schoolgraduating seniors from Curry and Roosevelt Counties, and one each forcurrent ENMU students from Curry and Roosevelt Counties.
The last place team will receive a 22-pound turkey (with possible freezer burn).
Theformat will be a four-person scramble (each player hits a shot from theteam's best previous shot). Teams must use at least two drives fromeach team member.
There will also be prizes awardedfor closest-to-the-pin, accuracy drive and longest drive. There willalso be a putting contest. Mulligans (a chance to take a shot over)will be available, with mulligan tickets drawn for door prizes.
The$200 entry fee per team includes a golf cart and free lunch. Tee timeswill be at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. on a first-served basis. There will beslots for 36 teams.
