Kiwanis Hold Fundraiser

Three Kiwanis Clubs in Division Four of the Southwest District (theclubs of eastern New Mexico) organized a fundraising contest with allproceeds going to the Salvation Army.  Kiwanians secured permission tostand in front of Clovis and Portales retail businesses to ring thebell for donations all day and into the evening Saturday, Dec. 17.  Thewinning club earned bragging rights, but all three of the participatingclubs put out the effort and the dedication to these two communities.

Kiwanis of Portales (Elwyn Hulett president) collected $1, 093.69,Kiwanis of Clovis El Desayuno (Dan Stoddard president) raised $726.82,and Kiwanis of Clovis Noonday (Jennifer Kimberly president) netted$425.41.  That comes out to $2,245.92 to help the needy in themicroplex. 

Division FourLieutenant Governor James Lee says, "I am very proud of my fellowKiwanians of Clovis and Portales.  It's their individual and collectivespirit that made it all happen.  Kiwanians believe in the importance ofcommunity involvement and dedication to fellow human beings.  I urgeeveryone in Curry and Roosevelt Counties to follow their example."
