PORTALES—The Department of Music at Eastern New Mexico University is presenting a faculty chamber music recital at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building on the Portales campus.
The concert consists of three major pieces: Sextet in B-flat major, Op. 6 by Ludwing Thuille (1861–1907); Chamber Concerto for Trombone & Wind Quintet by Fisher Tull (1934–1994) and Dance Suite by Karl Amadus Hartmann (1905–1963). The pieces will be performed collaboratively by the faculty: Lindsay Beasley, flute; Dr. Tracy Carr, oboe; Dr. Tamara Raatz, clarinet; Dr. John Olsen, piano; and Dr. Bruce Keeling, trombone. The recital will also feature performers from Texas Tech University School of Music: Drew West on bassoon and Clark Hutchinson on horn.
