PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is hosting an Open House from 1–3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, for the new San Juan Village student apartments and for the newly renovated Campus Union Building (CUB). Refreshments will be served in the CUB, and the public is invited.
Due to ongoing construction at San Juan Village, no self-guided tours will be allowed. Student guides will take small groups on tour from the CUB.
San Juan Village will accommodate 267 students in one-, two- and four-bedroom apartments. All apartments include a washer and dryer, refrigerator, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Each room has its own cable, phone and Internet connection. Other amenities include a community center (clubhouse) with a TV lounge, pool table, fitness center, movie/meeting room, computer room and swimming pool.
The CUB has been renovated with a new dining hall giving patrons a choice of sitting at booths, tables and (non-alcoholic) bars. In the basement is Ground Zero, featuring a number of additional food choices and an entertainment area for comedians, concerts, speakers, etc. Other building improvements include meeting rooms, new windows and renovated bathrooms.
