PORTALES—The Department of Music at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is presenting the “Harmony for Humanity” Concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building on the Portales campus.  The concert honors the memory of the late Wall Street Journal who was murdered by terrorists in Iraq.

The mission of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days “Harmony for Humanity” is to promote cross-cultural understanding through journalism, music, and innovative communications.  Eastern New Mexico University joins people around the world in a tribute to all the visionary men and women who use the power of music and words to lift the unity of mankind above the differences that set us apart.

The concert will feature the Eastern New Mexico University Faculty Wind Quintet with Lindsay Beasley, flute, Tracy Carr, oboe, Tamara Raatz, clarinet, Drew West, bassoon, and Jennifer Voges, horn.  The concert will also feature baritone Robert Mancusi and Michael Sitton, piano.

Admission is free and open to the public.
