PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University's College of Education and Technology (CET) has received re-accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education without any conditions attached. According to the notification letter, "This accreditation decision indicates that the unit and its program meet rigorous standards set forth by the professional education community."
Dr. Jerry Harmon, ENMU's dean of CET, said, "Our reputation and credibility is certainly enhanced with unconditional accreditation and it solidifies our program in the eyes of public school officials who look at the stability and academic reputation of a graduate's institution."
Harmon added, "This is just another example of the unblemished reputation that Eastern is noted for around the state and region. I am really please that our senior faculty will add this benchmark to their legacy."
The next NCATE visit is scheduled for 2010.
