PORTALES—The Department of Theater and Dance at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is presenting the "Nickel and Dimed" by Joan Holden at 7 p.m. on Feb. 7–9 on the Main Stage in the University Theater Center.
The play, directed by ENMU theatre professor Anne is a story of the investigations of Barbara Ehrenreich on the ability of a person to survive on $7 an hour. The adventures range from a house cleaner, to a mall worker to a restaurant server and follows their dramatic struggles through their minimum-paid lives. The play includes LeaAnn Fee from Hobbs as Barbara, Charlotte Quintana from Albuquerque, Diana Brazil from Tatum, Brandon McDaniel from Carlsbad, Marissa Gonzales from Albuquerque, Becca Perko from Albuquerque, Jacob Senn from Portales, Lavonda Franco from Carlsbad and Samantha Carrillo from Lubbock.
General admission is $8, seniors (55 ) $7, Pre-college $6, and ENMU students $5.
