PORTALES—The music department at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is presenting “Food Glorious Food,” a performance by the Swanee Singers and voice faculty at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, in the Administration Building hallway. The performance is part of the “Smithsonian Exhibit: Key Ingredients: America by Food” at Eastern through April 4.
The performance will begin with the voice faculty, which includes Dr. Jeanie Ornellas, Dr. Roberto Mancusi, Dr. Jason Paulk and Mrs. Kayla Paulk performing “Coffee Cantata.” The second half of the program will include performances by the Swanee Singers, an eight-member vocal ensemble, who will perform, “Food, Glorious Food,” “Prune Song,” “Chocolate,” “Chile Con Carne,” “Banquet Fugue,” “Good Ale” and “Java Jive.”
Clovis High School’s culinary arts and baking program will cater the event.
