PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University music faculty member Travis Erwin will perform at the Becky Sharp Auditorium in the College of Business Building at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29.
Erwin is a twenty-year veteran of the guitar and will sing and play songs he has written over the past two years. The folk and jazz artist has taught at ENMU for one year as an adjunct faculty.
Erwin is a member of the 44th Army National Guard Band out of Albuquerque and the Highwinds Jazztet, led by ENMU professor Chris Beaty. Erwin also enjoys composing and playing children’s songs at local schools and libraries.
Erwin has performed for the last three U.S. presidents. He has also performed with blues artist Watermelon Slim, Ruthie Foster and Brad Leely. Erwin’s album, “The Rucker Brothers,” will be for sale after his performance.
