All students, including transfer students, must participate in assessment. Each student’s unique academic experience gives us valuable information to improve student learning at ENMU.
This is a summary of the activities in which you will participate and the time associated with each activity:
Freshman Year
- BCSSE Freshman Survey (Freshman Seminar: 45 minutes)
- Learning Communities Participant Evaluation (Learning Community: 30 minutes)
- NSSE (spring semester—paper or Web: 25 minutes)
Sophomore Year
- General Education Testing (Assessment Day: 3 hours)
- Web-based survey (20 minutes)
- Department Assessment (classroom-based assessment varies by department)
Junior Year
- Department Assessment (classroom-based assessments varies by department)
- Web-based survey (20 minutes)
Senior Year
- Student Satisfaction Survey (part of graduation application process)
- Discipline Assessment (capstone experience and/or senior test; varies by department)
- NSSE (Spring semester—paper or Web: 25 minutes)
Alumni
If you leave Eastern New Mexico University before you graduate—whether to transfer to another school, take some time off, or for personal reasons—we will also be interested in learning about your experiences here. You will be asked to participate in an interview or focus group, or complete a survey upon your withdrawal from the University.
