The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) supports effective and innovative teaching in the public schools and universities of New Mexico. The CTE encourages teachers to use a wide variety of successful teaching and assessment strategies. By offering several grants, publications and workshops, the CTE helps teachers learn and share successful strategies with others.
Grants
Five categories of grants are available for New Mexico public school and university educators:
Action Research Grants—up to $3,000 per team of public school teachers to implement instructional innovations in classrooms and assess results
University Collaborators—up to $400 for research, content, assessment and/or publication expertise of university faculty assisting with Action Research Grants
Professional Development Project Grants—up to $1,000 per project for teacher workshops and model site visits promoting effective educational innovations
University-Initiated Project Grants—up to $1,000 for joint university/multi-school district innovative projects for supplies, materials, advertising and consultants
Effective University Instruction Research Grants—up to $4,000 per project to research promising innovations that promote increased student learning
