The effective and efficient use of information systems is a crucial element in maintaining or achieving competitive advantage for organizations. If you complete the information systems emphasis with a concentration in programming design, you gain the skills and knowledge you need for a career in this growing field. You will gain advanced knowledge in computer programming and the application of information systems for business.
If you are interested in working in computer programming and have an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences with a technical or vocational major from a Council for Higher Education (CHEA)-recognized organization and want to complete a bachelor’s degree, our Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) program will help your prior academic experience work for you. The average time frame for completing a BAAS degree is two years.
Learning Format For Programming Design
Our Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) concentration in information systems with an emphasis in programming design is designed to be completed 100% online. You will complete readings and tests throughout the semester. Recorded lectures via Mediasite will connect you with professors and other students. Student participation, using Mediasite and Blackboard, related to recorded lectures is done on your own schedule, rather than during a specific time.
Advising for Programming Design
As a BAAS programming design student, we are committed to helping you complete your degree as efficiently as possible. Throughout the program, we offer advising via phone or email and are always excited when you reach out to us.
Programming Design Resources
At ENMU we want to make sure you get the help you need. We offer several tutoring services, including the Online Writing Center (OWL), which is only for distance education students. The OWL is available to help you improve your writing and help you clearly communicate for written, school related projects and assignments. We also have online databases, journal articles and eBooks accessible through the Golden Student Success Center. Since ENMU has a dedicated distance education librarian on staff, you’ll always have the help you need to take advantage of library resources.
Affordable Bachelor’s in Programming Design
Eastern New Mexico University has the second lowest bachelor's and master's-level tuition in the state of New Mexico, and has one of the most affordable tuition rates in the United States. Once you are an enrolled programming design student you are eligible to apply for scholarships through the ENMU Foundation.
Career Opportunities in Programming Design
When you receive a BAAS degree with an information systems concentration, you may pursue careers such as:
- Computer specialist
