Personal Financial Planning

A Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in personal financial planning is designed for you if you are working in or would like to work in the areas of financial planning, accounting, insurance, or banking and investment. A financial planner is much more than just an investor. A financial planner should be familiar with budgeting, planning for retirement, saving for education, managing taxes and managing insurance coverage.

Learning Format For Personal Financial Planning

Our BBA in personal financial planning can be completed 100% online, with students completing assignments, readings, tests and projects throughout the semester. Recorded lectures via Mediasite will connect you with professors and other students. Student participation, using Mediasite, Blackboard and Collaborate is done both during actual class time and on your own time. This means some classes will flex around your schedule, while others give you the benefit of engaging with professors and peers during class time.

As a business student, we are committed to helping you complete your degree as efficiently as possible. Throughout the program, we offer advising via phone or email and are always excited when students reach out to us.

Personal Financial Planning Resources

At ENMU we want to make sure you get the help you need. We offer several tutoring services, including the Online Writing Center (OWL), which is only for distance education students. The OWL is available to help you improve your writing and help you clearly communicate for written, school related projects and assignments. We also have online databases, journal articles and eBooks accessible through the Golden Student Success Center. Since ENMU has a dedicated distance education librarian on staff, you’ll always have the help you need to take advantage of library resources.

Affordable Bachelor’s in Personal Financial Planning

Eastern New Mexico University has the second lowest bachelor's and master's-level tuition in the state of New Mexico, and has one of the most affordable tuition rates in the United States. Once you are an enrolled personal financial planning student you are eligible to apply for scholarships through the ENMU Foundation.

Career Opportunities in Personal Financial Planning

The extensive Personal Financial Planning (PFP) curriculum helps you understand the complexities of the changing financial climate, and allows you to make the right recommendations to your perspective clients. Once you complete this program, you will be able to sit for the Certified Financial Planning® examination. In addition to advisors and departments, Counseling and Career Services offers free job placement assistance to all students, so if you are looking for another position, we can help you find it.

ENMU only issues a "Certificate of Completion" that enables you to sit for the CFP® exam. The University does not award the CFP® certification. CFP® certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planning® Board of Standards, Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP® Board Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.
