Our Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science (BAAS) Animal Science Concentration will help you use your prior academic experience to complete your bachelor's degree.
This concentration will give you advanced knowledge in feed and nutrition, animal health, physiology, and management. This emphasis combines both a rigorous scientific component and a very hands-on practical application. Note: This concentration is not available 100% online. The first year may be completed through online instruction, but the second year requires on-campus attendance.

Do I Qualify for This BAAS Program?
You can enter our BAAS Program to earn your first bachelor's degree. To qualify you must have one of the following:
- An Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree from an institution with accreditation recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- Have earned at least 30 credit hours in a career-technical related discipline from an institution with accreditation recognized by the CHEA

Scholarships and Financial Assistance
We are committed to helping you finance your education. In addition to grants, loans and scholarships offered by Financial Aid and Enrollment Services, there are also many scholarships for current students. One example is the Daniels Fund Boundless Opportunity Scholarship which provides adults entering or returning to college funding for tuition, room and board and books. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to work part-time jobs on campus to help finance your education.

Faculty and Advising for Animal Science Majors
The applied arts and sciences faculty are committed to responsible academic advising. This means we help you schedule the right courses at the right time to help you take the next step in your professional career. Faculty members are specialists in their areas of advising and are current with requirements for admission into the programs they advise so you get the academic advice you need, when you need it.
Service and Mutual Interest Organizations
Students have the opportunity to participate in various campus and discipline-related organizations (particularly Pre-Vet Club and Collegiate FFA). Students also may assist faculty on research projects, work in labs, and other related activities.
Career Opportunities
When you receive a BAAS degree with an animal science concentration, you can look forward to an enhanced career in your field. BAAS Concentration: Animal Science
The BAAS program requires you to complete 120 hours to earn your bachelor's degree. Within those 120 hours, you must complete General Education Requirements, a primary concentration, and a secondary concentration.
