Distance Education at ENMUEastern New Mexico University is a leader in distance education in New Mexico, offering courses each semester at distance education sites, via the Internet and with visiting faculty. ENMU began its distance education program by offering courses in eastern New Mexico communities in 1957. In 1978 the University began offering instruction through educational television in Roswell. Academic programs today feature a variety of delivery media to meet the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds. At our distance education sites, students can participate in class discussions and other activities with students at other sites. Through this system, undergraduate and graduate students can pursue degrees or certificates. Faculty are highly qualified and have been trained to make the best use of distance education technology for interactive, constructive instruction. ENMU provides a variety of resources to distance education students. Golden Library provides extensive electronic and human support to distance education students. Staff members with campus services, such as advising, financial aid and other support services, are also available and committed to providing the best possible services to students at all sites. As part of its commitment to serving the needs of the citizens of New Mexico, ENMU continues to explore new technologies. These efforts are in keeping with a tradition of service to students and communities in New Mexico. |
