Taking a Distance Education Course

Admissions—New Students
If you have not previously enrolled at ENMU, you must complete the admissions process with your first enrollment. You have some options in completing this process.

You can complete the admissions form electronically.

Alternatively, you can attend the first class of any semester to register for the course and complete the application form. This applies whether you are a graduate or undergraduate student.

Another option is to submit a paper copy of the application form. Copies of the undergraduate application for admission are included in the complete class schedule published each fall, spring, and summer. Graduate and undergraduate forms are also available by calling 1-800-FOR-ENMU (1-800-367-3668) and contacting the appropriate admissions office (undergraduate or graduate).

Regardless of the procedure you select, completing the admission process is simple and designed to be convenient. It is not necessary for you to drive to Portales to complete this process.

Admissions—Returning Students
If you were enrolled during the previous semester, you may simply register for the desired courses. If you were not enrolled during the previous semester, complete the application form or graduate readmission form in its entirety. This form is available at the distance education sites, on the Web, or by calling 800.367.3668 extension 6 (Distance Education option) or 800.537.5376.

Registration
You may register via the Web. Directions for this process are included in the regularly published Schedule of Classes.

Early registration is recommended for all students. This will assure that a course syllabus is available for you at the site when classes begin. You will also be able to order the text and have it arrive in time for the first assignments.

Advising
You may communicate with your advisor by dialing 800.537.5376 during normal business hours. When you ask for your advisor, you will be transferred to that number. This will allow you to discuss your current program or course of study, your degree, and aspirations for a career. The advising process can be handled over the telephone in the distance education room with the assistance of the facilitator, or you can call the 800 number from your home. It is easier to use the 800.537.5376 number to visit with your advisor than to go through the 800.FOR.ENMU number.

The records clerk in the appropriate college will help you prepare a degree plan that you will need to follow. Contact your records clerk to get a degree plan prepared.

Tuition and Financial Aid
Payment or payment arrangements must be made by the scheduled date published in each semester's class schedule. The facilitator will provide a preaddressed envelope for submitting a check to the Accounts Receivable Office. If you are paying by check, please mail the envelope directly to the Accounts Receivable office. The facilitator is not authorized to accept tuition payments. A registration confirmation receipt will be issued by the cashier when your payment or arrangements have been made with Accounts Receivable. Until this receipt is issued, you are not officially enrolled in any classes.

ENMU allows installment payment arrangements. If you would like to pay via installments (minimum registration of six hours required,) please contact Account Receivable for information. In the fall and spring semesters, you may divide your total charges into three payments. A downpayment minimum of one-third of tuition plus the $10 contract fee is due by the last day to pay for the semester. Please contact Accounts Receivable for the exact due dates.

If you would like to pay with your credit card, you may use the toll free number: 800.FOR.ENMU. Select Option 5, Student Accounts.

If your tuition should be billed to a third party (Chapter 31, JTPA, DVR, Trust, School, or Corporation) please have your third party contact Accounts Receivable prior to registering.
