Textbooks

You are encouraged to contact your instructor prior to purchasing books or supplies. You may then order the materials directly from the University Bookstore.

The list of textbooks required will be on the Bookstore Web page about a week before classes begin. When the Bookstore page appears, click on “Textbooks”. Select the appropriate semester and course to see the books required.

To order a textbook, call the University Bookstore at 575.562.2721, 575.562.2722 or 877.499.2665. When ordering, please have the following information available: course name and number, instructor and title of book. If you want a used book, let the bookstore staff member know. The total amount of your purchase will be given to you at the time you place your order.

There are several methods of payment available. Paying by credit card is the fastest way to get your books. Have your credit card number and expiration date handy when ordering, and your books will be immediately shipped to your home or designated address. Payment can also be made by check. You can mail your check for the total amount of your order. Upon receipt, the bookstore will send your books to your home address.

Payment is also accepted through grants or financial aid. The total dollar amount of your order is deducted from your grant or aid and the books are mailed to your home or designated address.

Selling Books Back to the Bookstore
When you receive your books at the beginning of the semester, the University Bookstore will give you directions for selling your books back at the end of the semester. Please be sure to keep this information. The bookstore conducts an end-of-semester buy. What is bought and the amount paid is determined by what will be used in the upcoming semester. The bookstore will accept books by mail and send your payment to you. Call to set this up. Please check with the bookstore to confirm the dates for this buyback; normally, it is during the week of finals.
