ILL Policies
Customers Served
- all current ENMU-Portales faculty, staff and students registered through ENMU-Portales
- all off-campus faculty teaching classes originating from the ENMU-Portales campus
- local, retired ENMU faculty members
- Ruidoso campus faculty, students, staff
- local residents with a current Guest Card, except those affiliated with other colleges and universities (students that pay tuition at other colleges and universities must obtain ILL services from their home institution); students registered only through ENMU-Roswell, and not ENMU-Portales, must obtain ILL services through the ENMU-Roswell campus library
Conditions of Service
- all requesters must register with Golden Library's ILLiad system and place their requests via their personal ILLiad accounts
- books, articles, videos, DVD/CDs, etc., not owned by or electronically accessible via Golden Library may be requested by Portales campus customers and guests
- items not available full-text online, including items owned by Golden Library, may be requested by all ENMU distance education students, all ENMU off-campus faculty, and all Ruidoso campus faculty, students and staff
- there is no limit to the number of requests that can be placed
- there is a $100 limit, per semester, on book and article fees incurred to obtain requested material for faculty members and graduate students; however, faculty members may apply for additional funds, if approved by their dean, via the Request For Additional ILL Funds Form
- no fees will be incurred to obtain requested material for undergraduates or guests; exceptions may be made, at the discretion of ILL staff, for seniors working on senior projects
- we do not purchases theses and dissertations
- all circulating ILL material and Golden Library material must be returned by due date. For items not returned, requesters will be invoiced for the replacement cost of an item, plus a processing fee
- requesters who fail to return borrowed items, respond to repeated overdue notices, or remit payment for unreturned items will be blocked from the ILLiad system
- distance education undergraduates and graduate students, and off-campus faculty are permitted an additional 2 weeks, beyond the official borrowing terms of 3 weeks and 8 weeks, respectively, to return borrowed material in order to compensate for mailing time; requesters must return borrowed material at their own expense
- Golden Library has no control over the availability of materials or the lending terms and renewal policies of lending libraries
Services Provided
- we attempt to fill all valid requests for library material under the conditions stated above and for the designated customers we serve
- requested ILL material for Portales campus students and staff is placed at the Circulation Desk and requesters are notified to pick up their material via their ENMU email accounts; registered guests are notified by phone; Portales campus faculty receive both ILL and Golden Library material delivered directly to their offices
- requested ILL and Golden Library material for distance education students, off-campus faculty and Ruidos campus customers is sent directly to them
- some articles may be delivered electronically to customer ILLiad accounts (click the View Electronically Delivered Articles link when you log on to ILLiad) or to customer ENMU email accounts
