Accreditation
Eastern New Mexico University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, Illinois 60602-2504, (800) 621-7440. In addition, specific programs within the university hold accreditations by the following: the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, the National Association of Schools of Music, and the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. The chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society as meeting the Society's program criteria.

Memberships
The University is a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, American Association of Adult and Continuing Education, North American Association of Summer Sessions, and the Western Association of Graduate Schools.
