In the News.
The Child Development Center will be represented at the Health Fair by ENMU Students offereing health ideas for students and parents to incorporate during meal time. The following healthy snack recipes include foods approved by the Children, Youth & Families Department Family Nutrition Bureau. Recipes and nutrition lessons were developed by the students in FCS107, Health Safety and Nutrition, Fall 2008.
Dr. Michael F. Shaughnessy and Dr. Susan Fulgham of Texas A&M have an article appearing in Educational Technology, Vol 48, No 6, the November –December 2008 issue.
Dr. Caryl Johnson has been working on a sustainable garden - nutrition project with several elementary schools and the Cooperative Extension Service at the University of Virgin Islands - St. Thomas - funded by an internal grant and a developmental grant through the International Federation of Home Economics. She has been elected to serve as the V.P. for the Housing Education & Research Association.
The all online Masters in Education (M.Ed.) with an emphasis in Professional Technical Education currently has 31 students and continues to grow. This program is designed to prepare individuals for advanced teaching, research, and administrative positions in secondary, postsecondary community and technical colleges, higher education, as well as business and industry related to the field of professional technical education.
