General Obligation Bonds C and D Keeping New Mexico Healthy and Smart.In Nov. 4 General Election, Bond C is worth almost $58 million for heathcare facilities and Bond D is worth $140 million for higher education in New Mexico.
The New Mexico Professional Development Schools Network Conference met in Taos on Sept. 26-27. Highlights of the conference were keynote speeches by Dr. Howell, Interim Dean at UNM and our dean, Dr. Harmon. Participants examined the 9 Essentials of PDS Work as ways to build healthy Professional Development throughout New Mexico.Our students “stole the show.” The student presentation helped conference attendees understand what teacher candidates seek and value concerning teacher preparation programs.
The New Mexico Counseling Association's 2008 Annual Conference was held in Albuquerque on September 19-20. Dr. Penny Sanders presented "Beyond the straight and narrow: Becoming more aware of the needs of LGBT clients "and Dr. Doug Main presented his research on "Qualitative assessment and outcome measures in counseling".
Dr. Michael Shaughnessy recently interviewed Reid Lyon about "Reading First".
