Only the double room rate will be applied to your account if you are living in University-managed housing (Curry, Eddy or Guadalupe – traditional residence halls). West Campus Apartments and San Juan Village are not included in the housing options for this scholarship. Only 10 students per year are awarded this scholarship. Green and Silver Presidential Scholarship Application (online)

Eligibility:

• Be a New Mexico resident and be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Be a New Mexico high school graduate, New Mexico General Educational Development (GED) recipient, or New Mexico High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) recipient in the semester preceding the first semester of attendance

Proceeding the first semester of attendance

• Have a 3.0 GPA and ACT Composite of 27 or SAT Total of 1260–1290 OR
  3.5 GPA and ACT Composite of 25 or SAT Total of 1200-1220

Application instructions: To be considered for the Green and Silver Presidential Scholarship, complete the following by the scholarship deadline of March 4 for the fall semester.

1. Be fully admitted by March 4. If you haven't applied yet, apply for admission to ENMU now!
2. Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
3. Submit a Green and Silver Presidential Scholarship application by March 4.

Notification: If you are selected for the Green and Silver Presidential Scholarship, you will be notified no later than April 10. ENMU will award a maximum of 10 Green and Silver Presidential Scholarships each year.

Apply for the Green and Silver Presidential Scholarship

Amount: to be authorized by the New Mexico State Legislature annually, up to 100% of tuition and course specific fees at participating New Mexico public college and universities.

The New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship may be used in conjunction with other state funded aid (including the New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship) to cover, but not exceed, 100% of tuition and course specific fees, up to a maximum 18 credit hours.

Recent Graduate Learners: are students starting college or university for the first time in the semester following high school graduation or completion of equivalent credential or certificate or following a 16-month grace period following high school completion.

Recent Graduate Learner Eligibility Requirements:

• Be an established New Mexico resident.
• Enroll at an eligible New Mexico public college or university toward certain certificate programs, an associate degree or first bachelor's degree.
• Enroll full time in and earn (12 hours at a 2-year school, 15 hours at a 4-year school) each semester. Courses must be credit bearing.
• Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA while enrolled in a college or university.

Returning Student Learners: are students starting college or university for the first time (beyond 16 months of high school completion) or those returning to college or university after time away.

Returning Student Learner Eligibility Requirements:

• Be an established New Mexico resident
• Not be in excess of 90 overall attempted credit hours for an associate degree or 160 overall attempted credit hours for a first bachelor's degree.
• Enroll at an eligible New Mexico public college or university toward certain certificate programs, an associate degree or first bachelor's degree.
• Enroll in and earn at least six credit hours each semester, fall and spring. Courses must be credit bearing.
• Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA while enrolled in a college or university.

Duration: students who satisfactorily complete all enrolled hours each semester with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA are eligible to continue receiving the scholarship until they meet the requirements of their degree program or reach the maximum time frame limit, whichever occurs first. The Opportunity Scholarship cannot be awarded in excess of 90 overall attempted credit hours for an associate degree or 160 overall attempted credit hours for a first bachelor's degree.

Appeal: students who fail to meet one of the eligibility requirements may appeal to their institution's financial aid office. The appeal process includes detailing and documenting the extreme mitigating circumstances which prevented them from meeting the eligibility requirements.

Amount: to be authorized by the New Mexico State Legislature by June 1 of each year.

Eligibility:

• Be an established New Mexico resident.
• Graduate from a public or accredited private New Mexico high school, complete requirements as a home-schooled student registered by the https://webnew.ped.state.nm.us/bureaus/options-parents-families/home-schools/, or received a high school equivalency credential recognized by the state of New Mexico while maintaining residency in New Mexico.
• Enroll full-time within 16 months of high school completion at a New Mexico post-secondary educational institution and maintain continuous full-time enrollment in fall and spring semesters.
• Enroll full-time in and earn (15 credit hours per semester at an eligible four-year school) or (12 credit hours per semester at an eligible two-year school) with a minimum 2.5 semester GPA in your first semester and maintain a cumulative 2.5 semester GPA in subsequent semesters.

The scholarship begins with the second semester of enrollment at a public postsecondary institution. Thereafter, each scholarship is renewed on a per-semester basis, subject to maintaining eligibility. Students must remain consecutively enrolled each fall and spring semester. The scholarship is renewable until the student has received seven semesters of scholarship awards at a four-year institution or until the student graduates with a bachelor's degree, whichever is sooner. Students attending community college are eligible for three semesters of awards. The scholarship is transferable from one eligible New Mexico public college or university to another with a Legislative Lottery Transfer Transcript.

To qualify for a New Mexico Freshman Academic Scholarship, you need at least a 3.0 high school grade point average, 20 ACT composite or 1030 SAT total. See the chart below to see what your ACT/SAT score provides under this scholarship program.

Amount: $2,600–$5,400 per academic year

Receipt of scholarships may affect your eligibility for other financial aid. Scholarships are distributed over two semesters, fall and spring.

Continuation:

Your first semester's GPA is based on your first semester at ENMU. Thereafter, your cumulative GPA (all semesters including dual/concurrent enrollment and other schools) will be used to determine your eligibility for continuation.

May be awarded up to eight consecutive semesters or receipt of degree (whichever comes first) if you have an high school GPA of 3.5 or higher, ACT score of 22 or higher, or SAT of 1100 or higher and:

• Complete 15 hours each semester with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

May be awarded up to two consecutive semesters (fall and spring of your freshman year) if you have an high school GPA of 3.0-3.49, ACT score of 20-21 or an SAT score of 1030-1090 and:

• Complete 15 hours each semester with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

You can take three of the 15 hours required for continuation from the ENMU-Roswell or ENMU-Ruidoso campus with the remaining hours taken from ENMU-Portales.
