General Obligation Bonds C and D

Keeping New Mexico Healthy and Smart

General Obligation Bonds C and DIn the Nov. 4 General Election, Bond C is worth almost $58 million for health care facilities and Bond D is worth $140 million for higher education in New Mexico.

Combined, Bonds C and D would provide approximately $17.5 million for Roosevelt and Curry counties as follows:

  • Bond C provides $4 million for the Allied Health Building at Clovis Community College, as well as an estimated $1.5 million for renovation and expansion of New Mexico Department of Health facilities in Roosevelt County.
  • Bond D will provide $12 million for ENMU, including $9 million for the Technology Building, $2 million for infrastructure, and $1 million for the Music Building.
  • Estimated cost to property owners for $100,000 assessed value home:
    • $4 per year for Bond C
    • $9.77 per year for Bond D

In Portales, passage of Bond D would be worth approximately $1,000 for each of the 12,000 citizens at a cost of 81 cents per person per month. In addition, money spent on the projects will create jobs and recycle several times in area communities.
