N.M. Freshmen Scholarships

Application priority deadline is Aug. 1 for fall and Jan. 3 for spring. Fill out an application to be considered for these scholarships.

Freshman Academic Scholarship
Amount: $3,200–$6,000 per academic year
Requirements:
  • Minimum score of 20 on ACT or 940 on SAT (national test)
Continuation:
  • Students with ACT scores of 20–21 or SAT scores of 940–1019 may receive for only the fall and spring semesters of freshman year if they complete 12 hours each semester with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Students with ACT scores of 22 and above or SAT scores of 1020 and above may renew for a total of eight semesters if the following requirements are met:
    • First year (fall/spring semesters): Complete 12 hours per semester with a 3.0 GPA.
    • Second and subsequent years: Complete 15 hours per semester with a 3.2 GPA.
 
ENMU Foundation Starter Scholarship
Amount : Up to $1,000 of tuition for first semester only
Requirements:
  • N.M. resident
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA or 20 ACT or 940 SAT score (national test)
  • N.M. high school graduate or N.M. GED recipient in the semester preceding the first semester of attendance
Note: Students who have not graduated from an accredited N.M. high school or completed the N.M. GED will be awarded based on national ACT/SAT scores.
 
New Mexico Lottery Success Scholarship
Amount: Tuition
Requirements:
  • N.M. resident
  • Enrolled full-time in N.M. college or university the semester immediately following high school graduation or GED completion
  • Completed at least 12 hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA during first semester of college
Continuation:
  • Students who complete at least 12 hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA each semester are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to eight semesters if funding is available.

New Mexico Scholar Scholarship
Amount: Tuition and fees plus $700 per academic year, excluding lab, course and housing fees
Requirements:
  • N.M. resident
  • Graduated in top 5 percent of high school class or scored 25 or higher on the ACT (national test) or 1130 or higher on the SAT
  • Family income of $30,000 or less; $40,000 or less if more than one family member is a student in postsecondary education
Continuation:
  • Students who complete at least 12 hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to eight semesters or until receipt of degree.
Note: Students who receive the New Mexico Scholar are not eligible for the ENMU Foundation Starter or New Mexico Lottery Success scholarships.
