Program of Study
If you are interested in painting, drawing, and sculpture should major in art with an emphasis in visual arts. An art major's time frame for degree completion varies with the individual student, but generally, this degree can be obtained in four or five years.
The object of this program is to expose you to a variety of disciplines within the department to expand your visual ideas. This program also addresses various aspects of the art profession outside the studio such as:
- Marketing strategies
- Grant writing
- Public art
- Ethical issues
- Portfolio development
- Career directions
Service and Mutual Interest Organizations
Art majors are encouraged to join AIGA/ENMU, our student organization allied with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).
Faculty and Advising
The art faculty is committed to responsible academic advising. Faculty members are specialists in their areas of advising and know the current requirements for their programs. The University also has a reputable record regarding art students. The department is dedicated to providing you with the information and guidance you need to seek and attain internships.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
ENMU is committed to helping you finance your education. In addition to grants, loans and scholarships offered University-wide, the College of Fine Arts offers additional opportunities with ENMU Foundation Scholarships. Additionally, many ENMU students work part-time jobs on campus to help finance their education.
