Job Summary: Performs a variety of duties to assist Pharmacist in pharmacy.
Qualifications: Education
H.S. Diploma. Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
Experience
1 year as a Pharmacy Technician.
Skills
Must have good organizational and communication skills.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them Must maintain professional demeanor with consumers, medical staff and employees.
Duties: Prepares pharmaceutical preparations, labels and fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules.
Enters prescription information into pharmacy computer system.
Processes refill requests. Assists Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication in a timely manner.
Receives and stores incoming medications and supplies.
Assists in maintaining inventory records.
Assists in stocking shelves, checking prices and maintaining inventory.
Maintains records of medication and equipment dispensed to patients, computes charges, and enters data into computer.
Cleans equipment (including MAX and Eye-con counter) and glassware according to standard methods.
Maintains daily pharmacy records, including filing and storage, as directed.
Respond to requests from patients, MHCD nurses, residential counselors and others via phone, fax and e-mail.
Follows departmental policies and procedures.
Follows code of ethics for pharmacy technicians.
Performs other duties as required.
