Job Summary: Provide culturally competent individual/group therapy, case management, assessments and intakes to experience working with children ages 6-18, with trauma, anxiety, depression and psychosis. Mostly works with children, adolescents and families. Experience with drug abuse is helpful.
Qualifications: Education
Master’s (MHT II) Degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree. Licensed as a LCSW, LPC, LMFT or licensed Psychologist or licensed eligible within one year. CAC II or III preferred.
Experience
One-year experience working with children ages 6-18, with trauma, anxiety, depression and psychosis Play therapy experience preferred.
Skills
Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy. Knowledge of community resources. Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately. Familiarity with the DSM IV and diagnostic techniques. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work flexible and on-call hours which may be required. Written and verbal fluency in specified language (Spanish) required.
Duties: Provide psychological evaluations/problem identification, crisis interventions, and individual, group, and/or family therapy to assigned consumers. Provide case management services to consumers as needed. Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment and follow-up at disposition times. Assist consumers with psychological development, social development, and rehabilitation. Coordinate consumer's use of other Mental Health Center of Denver programs and outside community resources. Coordinate medication/medicinal needs of consumers with medical sources. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with MHCD’s standards. Coordinate consumer billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay. Participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
