Job Summary: Xcel Energy's Electric Area Distribution Engineering area has a current opening. This is a great opportunity for someone with Distribution Field experience who is looking for a role that offers a lot of variety. There will be travel required so having the ability to work independently is a must.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (equivalency to an ABET accredited degree would be recognized by ABET as having "substantial equivalency" or through a "mutual recognized agreement")
Passed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) or possess EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification
3 years engineering experience in the utility industry (or related area providing equivalent knowledge)
Duties: Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of related specialties.
Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
May supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
