Job Summary: Plateau, the regional leader in telecommunications services and systems, is accepting applications for a Wireless Network (Cell Site) Technician in the Tucumcari, NM area. The successful candidate will be required to live within a 30-minute drive of the reporting location.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements to apply include
Intermediate computer literacy
The ability to read, hear, understand, interpret and apply written and oral instructions
A demonstrated understanding of RF design/maintenance and AC/DC electronics
The ability to lift at least 100 pounds
The ability to work with and without close supervision
A valid driver's license and a clear 3-year driving record are required.
Training and/or certification on WCDMA/LTE/GSM/GPRS equipment along with IP Networking and CCNA certification is recommended. This position could require performing physically demanding tasks in weather and temperature extremes, as well as extensive daytime and nighttime driving throughout Plateau's geographic serving area.
Duties: Duties will include installing, upgrading, testing and maintaining all network equipment related to cell site locations; such as Ericson WCDMA/LTE, Nortel GSM, GPRS, Edge, licensed and unlicensed microwave equipment, Accedian NID, Cisco routers, etc. May be responsible for fiber location, fiber repair, cable spotting, span lines, fiber & copper cable, and installing Mux and Demux equipment.
