Job Summary: Plateau, a leader in regional telecommunications technology, has an immediate opening for an Enterprise Support Group (ESG) Technician in our Clovis, NM Headquarters location. The ESG Technician receives incoming requests from end-users for technical assistance with a variety of applications.
Qualifications: A demonstrated ability to prioritize, resolve and document end-user requests, communicate professionally in written and oral form, and maintain activity logs is required.
Minimum requirements to apply include
Completion of significant college-level coursework towards a computer-based or technical degree (Bachelor Degree in an IT related field preferred), at least two years of professional computer experience, or possess industry standard certifications from Microsoft or Cisco.
Desired qualifications include
Previous experience with networking, telephony, Linux, scripting and supporting end-users. Certifications relating to VoIP, SIP, A+, Network+, Security+ or similar are also highly desirable. Other skills include superior organizational skills and attention to detail; and a demonstrated knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, MS Office, and other network software platforms.
The successful candidate will be able to handle all support situations professionally and courteously, work well in a fast-paced team environment, and ensure timely and thorough completion of assignments. The ability to lift and maneuver 50-pounds is required.
Duties: Duties include
Trouble-shooting software and hardware problems
Providing support over the phone, via email, via remote, and in person
Supporting corporate servers, including setup backup and restore, patching, and monitoring.
ESG Technicians also monitor and maintain the company's antivirus software, Exchange, Active Directory, MS Licensing, corporate phone system, PC and peripheral purchasing and maintenance, as well as other various duties.
Ultimately, responsibilities will also include network security administration, server administration, and other duties related to competencies associated with MCP/MCITP and Cisco certifications.
The normal schedule for this position will be 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. The ability to work flexible hours and some overtime hours is required.
