Job Summary: Provide direct mental health clinical assessments and treatment to the severe and persistent mentally ill, including evaluations, monitoring treatment plans, and individual therapies. Working closely with treating Psychiatrists. Targeted population for this position is adults. Responsible for managing care load up to 25 adult consumers. Additionally, this position includes the opportunity to serve as a research assistant for an NIMH research project for consumers with psychosis.

Qualifications: Provide psychological evaluations/problem identification, crisis interventions, and individual, group, and/or family therapy to assigned consumers.
Provide case management services to consumers as needed.
Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment and follow-up at disposition times.
Assist consumers with psychological development, social development, and rehabilitation.
Coordinate consumer's use of other MHCD programs and outside community resources.
Coordinate medication/medicinal needs of consumers with medical sources.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with MHCD standards.
Coordinate consumer billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay.
Participate in team/MHCD meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
Collect research data for ten consumers, enter the data in the database and resolve queries in the database.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Master's Degree in counseling or social work, licensed or unlicensed.
Experience:
Minimum of two years’ experience in clinical case management and/or counseling
Experience working with severe and persistent mental illness.
Skills:
Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy.
Familiarity with the DSM IV and diagnostic techniques.
Ability to communicate with representatives of community agencies.
Effective written and verbal communication, organizational & computer skills.
