This position is located in the Administration Directorate (ADM), Student Services Division (SSD), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Glynco, GA. The incumbent assists the management team by performing administrative and management support duties to ensure accomplishment of the FLETC and the mission.

Qualifications: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements listed below by the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-08 grade level:

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service in performing a variety of administrative duties such as preparing/reconciling budgets; establishing suspense systems; controlling and reviewing correspondence; and preparing a variety of reports.

Current and former Federal employees must also have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service.

Duties: The Staff Assistant serves as assistant to the Chief, Student Services Division (SSD) and provides substantial administrative support to the SSD staff. Typical assignments include:
Briefs the Chief on administrative matters essential to efficient operation of the organization and serves as Timekeeper; maintains and tracks time and attendance, leave and overtime forms
Assists with preparation of reports, agendas, correspondence and other documents and screens incoming correspondence, reports and instructions
Provides guidance on travel arrangements and vouchers and tracks budget allocations for travel, training, equipment, supplies, and credit card purchases
Performs general clerical/office automation and technical duties including development of budget spreadsheets and various databases
