Job Summary:

Qualifications: Five years related experience and/or training; Master's degree from an accredited university. The employee must possess the ability to supervise multiple programs and the knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations as they applyto higher education. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Expereicne working in a comprehensive community college environment.

Duties: The Dean is administratively responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of the Division to ensure high quality programs of instruction. Manages employees in the department and is responsible fo the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in acordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and disciplining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Serves as education/support function leader for the Division; promotes effective communication within the Division; prepares class schedules; evaluates faculty and staff in accordance with ENMU-Roswell policies; administers screening and hiring procedures for faculty and staff. Assists in establishing advisory committees; maintains fiscal accounting for the Division including preparing budget requests, allocating funds and approving expenditures, and supervising maintenance of fiscal records. Serves as supervisor over the Title V Math and Science Success Center; Serves on the Instructional and Curriculum Council Committee; and on other faculty and institutional committees as appointed or elected. Communicates with the community to interpret the University and its programs to the community and participate in community affairs. Promotes faculty and staff participation in community affairs, supervises textbook orders within adopted policies, and performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.
