Job Summary: The Vice President for Academic Affairs is responsible for the overall administration of all instructional operations. This employee serves as CEO of the campus in the absence of the ENMU-Roswell President. The Vice President for Academic Affairs is an At-Will position and reports directly to the Enmu-Roswell President. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the institutional policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications: Required
Five years senior educational administrative experience directly related to the postion summary and essential functions listed above in a comprehensive community college setting and an earned doctorate degree from an accredited educational institution required. Must have a broad range of experience in all facets of academic affairs including, but not limited to, program development, advisory committees, program accreditation process, curriculum development, and the ability to develop strong faculty relations. The employee must possess the ability to supervise multiple campus departments, to work with a culturally diverse community and student body. The ability to work collaboratively with other administrators, faculty, and staff to advance the goals of the instructional program. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Preferred
A working knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations as they apply to higher education and experience in working with state legislators to achieve the common goals of the institution preferred.
Duties: Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
Planning, assigning, and directing work.
Appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees.
Addressing complaints and resolving problems. Selects, develops, supervises, and evaluates faculty and staff in the unit.
Indirect supervision is exercised over all faculty and staff assigned to those areas to oversee instructional effectiveness.
Ensures a student-centered focus.
Works closely with the division Deans to develop, monitor, and advocate for a high quality program of instruction and services.
Inspires and encourages innovation.
Fosters quality curriculum development and serves as chair of the Curriculum and Instructional council.
Develops and managers resources and budget oversight.
Develops partnerships with local schools, businesses and community agencies and responds to commuity needs.
Coordinates instructional activities with Enmu-Roswell.
Serves as liasion to the Enmu system and appropriate state and federal agencies.
Develops strong relationships with local and state legislators to ensure the goals of the institution are addressed and met.
Serves as Ceo of the campus in the absence of the Enmu-Roswell President.
Oversees the institutional program review process.
Attends Community College Board and Board of Regents meetings as directed.
Maintains cordial and working relationships with all departments within Enmu-Roswell.
Participates in community activities and community organizations as required.
Oversees and coordinates the activities of the Performing Arts Center, Learning Resource Center, Title V grant, and Center for Workforce and Community Development.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.
