Job Summary: The job of School Psychologist is performed for the purpose/s of providing a full range of school psychological servies to children ages 0-21 to include screening and assessing studetns' intellectual and functional levels; individual and group consultation with school staff, parents, and outside agencies; assisting in developing behavior and transition plans; providing information on child regarding indibidual student plans; and providing recommendations for program development and studetn placement in a manner consistent with all district, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications: Masters Degree in job related area.

Duties: Screens and evaluates referred children including selecting appropriate instruments, administering standardized and functional texts, observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings and student's functional levels for the purpose of providing educational program recommendations and special education eligibility.
Participates as a member of the ebaluation team and the individualized education program team contributing evaluation findings for the purpose fo collaborating on the child's educational plan.
Assist other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Communicates with studetns and/or parents and teachers and/or other personnel for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations.
Provides collaborative consultation and documentation of results including assisting basic education staff with suggestions and implementation of RTI, pre-referral intervention strategies, and providing recommendations and modifications for the purpose of assisting basic education staff in working with special education studets in the classroom setting.
Coordinates with community agencies including medical, judicial, social service and mental health services for th purpose of determining appropriate treatments, etc. to meet the needs of specific students.
Donsult with sudents, parents and guardians for the purpose fo enhancing studetn success in school.
Facilitates meetings, processes, etc. for the purpose of meeting curriculum guidelines and/or achieving state mandates.
Implements school wide program development and program ebaluation for the purpose of ensuring effective programs to assist children who experience physical, mental, social or emotional difficulties.
Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.
Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
Prepares a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activites, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
Coordinate and lead weekly building special education team meetings.
Research resources and methods for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.
Maintains accurate records of inventory for the purpose of compliance with state reporting.
