Job Summary: Longfellow Elementary School has an opening for a Special Education Teacher for the 2013-2014 School year. Salary will be based on the 2013-2014 Teacher Salary Schedule.
Qualifications: Required
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement
Ability to lift and transport student
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
Previous experience working with elementary special education students
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, do feeding, toileting, diaper changing, catheterization, etc.
Ability to meet Federal Highly Qualified requirements
Experience or willingness to learn about working with students with Autism, Development Delays and other disabilities
Desired
Bilingual English/Spanish
Previous classroom teaching experience
Experience with Life Skills/Adaptive Life Skills
Training in PECS, STAR, and FBA process, and Sensory Integration
