Job Summary: Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention of severe and persistently mentally ill consumers. Must have experience with testing.
Qualifications: Education
Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.
Experience
Minimum three years experience in the mental health field.
Skills
Licensed to practice psychology in the state of Colorado. Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy and community resources. Ability to administer psychological tests. Knowledge of community resources.
Duties: Develop and coordinate a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of consumers.
Provide for a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to the treatment of consumers.
Conduct individual or group therapy sessions in accordance with generally accepted principles of the American Psychological Association.
Assess progress of consumers and modify or extend treatment program accordingly.
Document consumer therapy in accordance with MHCD’s policies and procedures on medical records.
Intervene as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment such as substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes, and other instances as outlined in policies.
Refer consumer to outside agencies where appropriate.
May provide case management services to consumers as appropriate.
Coordinate consumer billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay.
Comply with established MHCD policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, and environmental and infection control.
Maintain required records, reports, and files. May perform 27/10 mental health evaluations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
