Job Summary: This is a unique opportunity to support Child and Family’s A New Day Family Resource Center. This position participates in a multi-disciplinary team that provides comprehensive services for enrolled children, adults, and their families. The approach of the team is characterized by being strengths-based, family-centered, culturally competent and community responsive. Utilizing this approach, this position provides clinical support for children, adults, and their family systems by facilitating resiliency and enhancing the family’s’ capacity to meet their basic needs. Children, adults and families in this community mental health center present with a broad range of biopsychosocial issues and mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, attachment concerns, PTSD, and substance abuse, among others. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance to documentation standards for all work performed.
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or other related human service degree. Experience: At least one year experience in mental health or human services field preferred. Skills: Ability to join with and implement a strengths-based approach to children, families and adults. Knowledge of community and available resources. Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred. Self-directed individual, but team player. Sense of humor appreciated.
Duties: Conduct orientations and needs assessments of consumer’s accessing A New Day Family Resource Center.
Responsible for monitoring consumer check-ins and the completion of monthly family surveys.
Maintain and organize donations at A New Day Family Resource Center.
Assist with the weekly food ordering and track inventory to ensure safety standards.
Coordinate securing more community donations.
Responsible for planning and coordinating events.
Contribute to the program development of wellness classes and psychoeducational groups.
Support consumer and family’s growth and development with an emphasis on strengths and resiliency. Utilize natural support systems and existing strengths/resources.
Collaborate with internal and external partners and provide advocacy as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with agency standards.
Participate in team meetings, in-services and supervisory sessions as required.
Other duties as assigned.
