Job Summary: Phase One Consulting Group is seeking a Telecom Manager. Typical duties will include day to day management of telecom projects, systems, and support staff for a Federal agency, in addition to interfacing with senior government clients. The Telecom Manager will leverage his/her demonstrated experience to work with IT and business stakeholders to design, build, deploy, and support enterprise-level telecom solutions in the context of the client specific architecture, and to set clear priorities for the team on all telecom related activities.
8+ years in a technical project management, telecom operations, or consulting services profession.
High degree of competency and experience with project management including: issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status.
Ability to creatively solve challenging business/technology problems.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
Extensive knowledge of data and voice network technologies and IT service methodologies.
Passion for customer service.
Able to design and oversee the development of implementation plans to determine feasibility in terms of scale, cost, time, resources to maintain.
Strong communicator that has the ability to work without direct supervision or detailed direction.
Experience managing full lifecycle of product implementation.
Candidates must be able to work on-site at client sites located Washington, DC and must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and may be required to pass a government background investigation.
Must have a general knowledge of PBX and enterprise phone systems.
Must have knowledge of Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology.
Should possess knowledge of MPLS network.
Familiarity with SIP and Point to Point.
General knowledge of Unified Communications (UC).
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or ITIL certification.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Economics, or equivalent experience.
Duties: Manage project schedules, including tasks, resourcing, milestones, and inter-project dependencies.
Ability to develop telecom oriented architectural designs, proof of concepts, test plans, training plans, documentation, and deliverables while staying within budgets and deadlines.
Responsible for all audio visual, multimedia, and voice services operations. Must ensure that the engineers meet the established organizational SLAs.
Coordinate between government staff and contractors to identify, track and remove roadblocks and ensure delivery of the telecom services.
Ensure system backups and preventative maintenance occur on a scheduled basis and maintenance vendors are performing to contract.
Work with business stakeholders to balance business and technical objectives and effectively manage trade-offs between priorities and schedule.
Ensures processes and procedures are documented and current.
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with other vendors and support organizations.
Actively contribute to the team's culture of having fun together, embracing change, and delivering.
Report on progress, risk mitigation and issues to multiple levels of organization.
