We have an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Development Director in our Albuquerque office.
The American Heart Association is seeking a high energy, competitive, and achievement-driven individual to be part of the Albuquerque Development Team! This position will focus primarily on Heart Walk Team development, with additional responsibilities and goals associated with our Go Red For Women and Heart Ball campaigns/events. This position requires someone who has experience with large fundraising/sales goals and large events. This position is responsible for raising $250K of the total office goal of $600K-plus in the greater Albuquerque area. If you have a strong fundraising or sales background where you traveled in an assigned territory OR if you have an event coordination background coupled with sales or fundraising we want to hear from you!
Knowledge and skills in fund raising principles, practices and techniques.
Ability and experience to recruit, train, counsel, and manage volunteer groups and to develop long range organizational goals and follow through with them.
Ability to lead a team but also to work independently.
Ability to apply sound judgment and problem solving skills to conflicts.
Skill in making presentations to large and small audiences.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree. Related experience may be substituted as follows 1 years experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position's educational requirement.
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Must have the ability to lift at least 20lbs from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Duties: Actively works with local business community to secure and grow major sponsorships for AHA events.
Plans and coordinates the logistics for large fundraising events.
Works to ensure future success of events through exploratory meetings, sales calls, and creating strategies to develop current and new donors.
Ensures effective use of volunteers through managing volunteer committees, working with volunteer leadership/board members, maintaining accurate volunteer records, cultivating new volunteers, and guiding volunteers as they direct meetings.
