Qualifications: Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service designing, developing, analysis and requirements gathering, acquisitions, testing and implementing of enterprise software applications and databases, including experience in the use of Microsoft .Net Frameworks (version 2.0 and higher) and Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS (version 2005 or 2008), for the design, development and testing of web-based (ASP.Net) applications in support of the business needs and mission; or administration of intranets/extranets using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (version 2007 or 2010).
Duties: Leading, overseeing and directly participating in efforts to define and maintain the FLETC IT Applications Architecture which is used to ensure that the suite of implemented application software solutions and services meet customer needs and interact consistently, efficiently, and effectively to meet non-functional requirements, that include, but are not limited to: accessibility, compatibility, interoperability, reliability, scalability, testability, and usability.
Planning, defining, coordinating, and performing analysis to ascertain the appropriate technical solutions necessary to satisfy DHS and FLETC mission requirements, strategic goals, and objectives.
Ensuring that solutions align with the DHS and FLETC Enterprise Architecture (EA), and adhere to DHS and FLETC polices, standards, and processes.
Understanding an assortment of complex IT tasks, tools, technologies, and system relationships and interoperability.
Providing the technical expertise for solution implementation, application integration and/or development, operations, support, and maintenance of enterprise relational databases or data warehouse systems, desktop and/or web-based application systems, solutions, and services.
Performing research, analysis, and evaluation of emerging IT tools, technologies, and practices that are related to the business modeling, requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of relational database management systems, data warehouse systems, and software application systems, solutions, and services.
Responsibility for the administration and performance of assigned enterprise software solutions (application systems and services) and often serves as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the implementation and/or administration service providers of these systems.
