Job Summary: UNL is searching to fill the position of a Digital Journalist.
Qualifications: Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, film-making or a relevant field of study. Three years of full-time content creation experience in television, radio, web, social media or a media-related industry that includes producing or directing. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in digital news gathering and editing. Familiarity with social media platforms and techniques. Experience must demonstrate excellent organizational, research, science and natural resources reporting, and writing skills with the ability to apply humanities principles to story-telling about water. Must also demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced media, digital media development, and/or studies in science or natural resources. Experience developing media content focused on science and humanities. Familiarity with digital photography techniques, single camera video field production, audio production, and digital editing. AVID or Final Cut editing experience.
Radio, multimedia, social media and web content development expertise.
Duties: Creates, produces, writes, and edits multi-media humanities and science content for all NET content platforms. Emphasis on content created as part of the Platte Basin Time Lapse Project. Media content can include producing short and long form video and radio segments, social media, and web.
