Duties: This Regional Volunteer Services Specialist Implements programs, projects and initiatives to increase and strengthen the engagement of volunteers in all program and administrative areas of the Region for the assigned geographic territory. Specific areas of focus include executing a recruitment strategy, managing the volunteer on boarding process for the territory, supporting program managers in engaging volunteers and supporting volunteer recognition efforts. Acts as a program or service subject matter expert (SME) to staff, management, volunteers and external partners. Represents the Red Cross within the assigned territory for the purposes of volunteer engagement.
Execute the volunteer management strategy for the Region in the assigned territory. Recruits, interviews, places, trains and conducts follow-up with volunteers to support program and administrative operations. Conducts needs assessment with Chapter leadership and employees to determine volunteer opportunities and develops plan for implementation. Maintains volunteer database system. Works with program areas to develop volunteer job descriptions/summaries.
Manages Volunteer Connection for assigned territory and volunteers. Manages job postings and application process. Ensures volunteer data is up-to-date. Meets established performance targets such as intake cycle time and other metrics.
Supports the establishment and operations of Volunteer Intake Centers during disasters to intake and assign event-based volunteers.
