Job Summary: KOAA-TV, the Cordillera owned #1 NBC affiliate in stunningly beautiful Colorado Springs and Pueblo, CO has an immediate opening for a Master Control Operator based in our Pueblo facility. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities below. This position also requires the ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment as well as the flexibility to work non-traditional hours, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications:

Duties: Familiarity and operation of Harris ADC-100 automation System which operates all recordings, playback systems, and dish controls, manually tune Ericsson satellite receivers.
Editing on Harris Velocity, and Nexio Video servers.
Check paper and system logs for accuracy, adjust system logs for correct timings, insert "Clock" times for network events, monitor and prepare system for primetime on our NBC and NFN sub-channel.
Edit daily news teases on Velocity Editing System, setup record events for day of air show recordings on Tandberg and Ericsson IRD systems, segment and check Closed Caption on recorded shows.
Purge daily shows from ADC-100 automation database and Harris Media Base, receive syndicated shows from Pathfire and PitchBlue systems, ingest Paid shows from DVCPRO tapes.
Advise producers in the News team regarding any timing or broadcast issues.
Record incoming local and National News feeds.
"Trim" the recording on video server and monitor broadcast video and audio quality.
Monitor signal strength conditions hourly and create discrepancy reports for any system or log issues.
Run Newsticker crawls and crawls for weather and E.A.S. notifications.
Download, edit and quality check commercials from multiple sources including Extreme Reach, Javelin FTP, and local production spots, manually run breaks for live events, and operate Harris Iconmaster MCO HD router
