Instructions for Stafford Loan Application

Please be sure that you are enrolled before completing the Stafford Loan Application.

1. Go to: http://www.enmu.edu/currentstudents/index.shtml.
2. Click on the “Check My Financial Aid Status” link.
3. Log in using your student ID and password.
4. Click on the “Student & Financial Aid” link.
5. Click on the “Financial Aid” link.
6. Click on the “My Award Information” link.
7. Click on the “Award By Aid Year” link.
8. Select appropriate aid year using the dropdown menu.
9. Click the “Submit” button.
10. Click on the “Accept Award Offer” Tab to review awards.
    • If you wish to accept a partial amount:
    1. Use the dropdown menu to choose “Accept”.
    2. Enter the amount you want to borrow in the “Accept Partial Amount” box.
       • If this is a fall/spring loan you will receive half of the total each term
    3. If you have borrowed through ENMU before, your last lender should show. If incorrect or you want to
       change lenders, call the ENMU Financial Aid office.
    4. If you have not borrowed through ENMU before, use the dropdown menu to select a lender from those most commonly used or call the Financial Aid office to request any FFELP lender.
    5. Click the Submit Decision Button.
    • If you wish to accept the full amount of all offered awards:
      1. If you have borrowed through ENMU before, your last lender should show. If incorrect or you want to
         change lenders, call the ENMU Financial Aid office.
      2. If you have not borrowed through ENMU before, use the dropdown menu to select a lender from our
         most commonly used or call the Financial Aid office to request any FFELP lender.
      3. Click the “Accept Full Amount All Awards” button.
    • If you do not wish to borrow at this time, “Undecided” Stafford awards will remain offered until the end of the term in case you decide to accept at a later date.
    • After submitting your decision, a new screen will show the updated status of your awards.
11. If listed, review Outstanding Requirements and follow instructions.
12. Review “Overall Financial Aid Status” at the bottom of the screen.
13. All borrowers must complete annual Online Student Loan Entrance Counseling for Stafford and/or Perkins loans at http://www.mappingyourfuture.org/oslc.
14. Borrowers who chose a new lender must complete a Master Promissory Note with their lender.
