The Communication Building houses the Broadcast Center (KENW TV/PBS affiliate and KENW FM) on one side, and the Department of Communication Studio C – TV studio, The Chase (newspaper), HoundBytes (online magazine) and Hound Waves (student radio), class rooms, faculty offices, and multi-purpose, audio and video labs. The state-of-the-art building was funded through a GO Bond. Students have the opportunity to work on national and international PBS programs for KENW, and in a small studio shooting podcasts, the radio station or student publications on the Communication side. Students begin using facilities and equipment that mirror a professional setting as early as their freshman year.
