Bio
Bill Andersen has been a full-time faculty member at Eastern New Mexico University since 1995. He teaches general physics including astronomy and the physics of music. The development of ideas is driven by student consideration of conceptual questions punctuated by brief lectures. Electronic polling devices encourage discussion and collaboration between students and provide real time formative assessment.
In addition to his teaching activities, he maintains a productive, if somewhat eclectic, research program. Past research has included theoretical and numerical investigations of phenomena ranging from the magnetism of mesons to the stability of hierarchical triple star systems. His most recent work, done in collaboration with Lear Jet engineer Steve Werner, is a theoretical and experimental investigation of the physics toy, Hurricane Balls.
Currently, he is interested in the spinning motion of rings and disks as well certain issues in relativistic gravity.

Bio
Dr. "C" was born in the historic fishing port of Gloucester, MA. The family moved west to California in the 1960s and settled in Northridge, a northern suburb of LA. It was there that Dr. C discovered his passion for the outdoors, geology, and music.
After completing his Bachelor's in geology at CSUN, Dr. C attended graduate school at the University of Idaho. For his M.S. research he studied the rare earth element and fluid inclusion geochemistry of fluorite deposits near Challis, ID. For his dissertation, he studied the oxygen and hydrogen isotope composition of the fluids responsible for the deposition of the great Coeur d'Alene silver veins in northern Idaho.
Dr. C still plays bass in rock bands and can be seen playing at local venues. He is married to Amiee who is a Certified Yoga instructor at ENMU. They have a teenage son Isaac and a house full of dogs and cats.
Research Interests
Geology and geochemistry of the Lincoln County (NM) Porphyry Belt.
Application of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and powder X-ray diffraction for geological, environmental and archaeological studies.
Chemistry of drinking and environmental waters.
